Your wedding day is meant to be one of the best, most memorable days of your life - but let's be realll honest. It goes by in a FLASH. Believe me. Been there, done that. One moment, I was waking up to my wedding day, grabbing a Starbucks chai latte with "Bride" in the spot for the name, and then I blinked and I was putting on my pajamas, going through the Taco Bell drive through with my HUSBAND and settling down in our hotel room, ready to leave for Savannah the next day. It was gone in a blur and the only thing I really had left of this day were my photographs. So yeah, your wedding photography is a pretty big deal! So let me give ya a run-down on how this whole thing goes - RTP Style. Because I promise you, not every Wedding Photographer is the same.
You message me, I message you, we hit it off and decide that it's time to get to know each other a little more before we officially do this thing! Yes, I'm totally serious (or am I?) - Mostly because it's important that we click. But Why??! I'm spending your WHOLE wedding day pretty much right by your side. I'll be there for it all, so it's best that we know we are a great fit when doing this whole wedding day thing. Usually, I'll meet you at my favorite coffee shop (DeBeen in High Point) and we will chat for a bit about your wedding day and I'll answer all of those questions you have! By the way - you gotta try their iced chai latte.
Step one: So you've Checked Out My work, and you want to book. But hold up! We haven't met and you want to make it official? I mean, I'm sure I'll love you back, but let's meet first!
Step two: get your wedding guide & schedule your engagement session.
Woot Woot! So here's the fun part! You'll receive your Wedding Guide in the mail, which will be a magazine that I have custom designed and written just for my RTP brides and grooms. Pretty cool, right? It'll have all of my best tips, tricks, and secrets - and everything you need to know to have an amazing wedding day. Check it out, and then decide on a spot for your engagement session (I can totally help with this too!). Engagement Sessions are suupppaa important, so I urge all of my couples to NOT forgo this part of the experience. Not only is this a great time to celebrate being engaged with a session - but also another chance for us to get to know each other, and practice those poses you ooh and ahh over so you can nail it on the wedding day!
Step three: hey hey! it's the wedding day! my team and I are super pumped and ready to rock and roll this day.
Pop that champagne! It's YOUR wedding day! This is THE day we have been waiting for and it's finally here, and we are totally ready to make some magic. We luuuuuvvvv those beautiful details you've put so much thought into, so we think it's pretty dang important to photograph them. You'll have a list in your Wedding Guide of what to bring and how to have it ready for us so we can get the show on the road, and capture your details beautifully.
We highly recommend first looks because you get a ton more photos + we can get all of the formal photos our of the way while you relax and enjoy your day without stopping so much for photos. But we also 100% respect those that want to do the traditional first look (we did!) too.
We will capture all of the usual wedding day photos - of course, with our own, fun twist on it - but we want to urge you to make this day YOURS. If hubby loves his car, let's include it in the couple's portraits! If grandma is your best friend, let's do a mini-on-the-side photoshoot with her. Seriously! This is your day and I want to make it as unique and special as your relationship is.
step four: okay mr and mrs, or mrs and mrs, or mr and mr (we don't discriminate) you're back from your honeymoon and settled in, awaiting your wedding photos.... now what?
If you haven't already, now is a good time to take a good look around your house and decide how you want to display your photos. I mean, it's a little bit silly to hire a professional photographer, and then NOT professionally print those photos. And believe me, Walgreens isn't gonna do a good job. It might look like the digital (with some color issues) but I promise you, that photo will fade by the time you hit your 10th anniversary - which seems long - but what if I told you my print lab guarantees that your print will stay true to color for over FOUR HUNDRED years?! Amaze-balls, right? I'm sure you are questioning why in the world would you need a print to last so long? Family history. I'm being for real. Are you going to pull up Google Drive when you are telling your grand children about your wedding day, or do you see yourself pulling out a big, beautiful album, dusting it off and having them flip through the pages with you, pointing at the details and how young and happy you looked? Yeah, these albums are an investment, but for the same price as a Iphone that will last 2 years, you can have generations of your family history preserved, your wedding day, in beautiful, professional quality detail.
