Remembering the best memories of arriving in Portland and a scenic drive to the warm Oregon coast.

hug Point / Cannon Beach, Oregon

So, you are thinking about eloping on the Oregon Coast and want to see what's up with how to plan, what to do, and everything in between when it comes to your elopement! Luck you, I've been here already and have some favorite spots & ideas to make your stay absolutely unforgettable!

- How To Get There -
I flew into the Portland airport and secured a rental car from there before driving to my hotel, which was a short 10 minutes away. You can stay closer to the coast of course, which I recommend for a romantic weekend of eloping!

Driving from Portland to Hug Point / Cannon Beach is about an hour and a half drive. I honestly dreaded this drive but it was actually very scenic which made the drive go by so fast!

- Where To Stay -
So many great places! If you're staying in Portland to enjoy downtown on your stay, I totally recommend The Mark Spencer Hotel. I found it on a deal & was completely and utterly impressed by how clean and comfortable the bed was.

This Airbnb "The Arch Cape Loft" is seriously stunning and so modern - and RIGHT BY THE OCEAN. Literally you can walk there. My favorite thing about this Airbnb is the amount of natural light coming in. This would be perfect for getting ready photos or a cuddly day after session.

This adorable cottage Airbnb is perfect if you love the quaint and the cozy! It's also right on the beach and has plenty of beautiful natural light coming in!

If You're like me and you love an A-Frame, this one is for you! It's close to the beach and has a really cool fire pit in the backyard- perfect for a romantic evening.

You'll hear me say this a BAZILLION times - Your elopement day should be intentional. I want you to close your eyes and think of these questions:

1) What do you do together from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed?

2) What is the scenery like?

3) What is the weather like?

4) How do you feel?

5) What important and meaningful things do you want to include?

6) What are you wearing?
Ru De Seine for bohemian, unique, gowns that stand out.
Reclamation does custom dress designs with boho, non-traditional aesthetic.
HERE are some gorgeous, quality, dresses for under $200!

The specifics of the timeline greatly depend on where you are eloping and what the weather is like, but this will give you an idea of a late Summer elopement on the Oregon Coast, when the temperature is around 67 degrees Fahrenheit.
